John Marshall :

John Marshall is  owner, operator, and chief instructor of Luthiers International Guitar Repair and Building Programs. As one of the few luthiers in the country dedicated to teaching, John's aspirations are to share his knowledge and experience with the hundreds of graduates who have attended Luthiers International, as well as future apprentices.
 While studying Music in New York @ State University of New York John majored in music. He had an opportunity to study with such famed professors as Steve Brown from Ithaca College. While in New York, John played and toured with many regional acts, such as the Nightwing Band. In addition John attended Southwest Guitar Conservatory in San Antonio, Texas and studied with the great players Tal Farlow, Jackie King, Herb Ellis, and Willie Nelson. He is also a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music, where he became a full-time teacher of Guitar Repair and did some substitute teaching in Musical sightreading and theory. At the Atlanta Institute of Music John had the opportunity to teach hundreds of students in the field of guitar repair and building ,many of whom are now working as professional luthiers. John has performed with many touring bands throughout the U.S. and currently teaches master classes in guitar repair and building at Luthiers International. John is currently building guitars for regional and national players and has a regional band called "The Work In Progress Band" a blues band and has recently released a new CD entitled Blues Highway. Dave Montalbano


Dave Montalbano retired in 2003 after a successful 33 year career as a Federal Agent in charge of a National Electronics Surveillance Unit. Dave is currently a Senior Instructor at the National Intelligence Academy where he teaches a variety of specialized college level electronics and imaging courses. He also is an instructor here at Luthier’s International where he teaches Basic Guitar Electronics and some Basic Amplifier Electronics with the goal of making sure our students understand the “whole electric guitar and amp” experience.


Dave also does custom wiring for us at Luthier’s International and works with the students on designing wiring for their guitars. Dave designs and builds his own guitars, amplifiers, speaker cabinets and shares his techniques with the students. Dave has written electronics related books and articles for “Guitar Maker Magazine”. He is a graduate of a Luthier's International 2003 class.

Danny Clinton

Danny Clinton teaches the Art of Inlay here at Luthier's International. Danny is a player, builder, and artist. He shares his talent's here at our program. Danny not only teaches Inlay here but maintain's building guitar's with Ken Bennett and together they have created some of the most incredible inlay pieces for companies such as Warrior Guitar's as well as countless other custom inlay projects. Danny is also a graduate of Luthiers International. He also travels as a guitar tech with band's such as Skid Row and currently the band Kansas. You will find your time spent with him to not only be educational but very interesting to say the least.
